A newly developed technology makes it possible to change the surface of metallic titanium into a highly aesthetic white finish. In the dental industry, titanium is one of the materials of choice due to its excellent biocompatibility and high strength. The technology developed in TIDE converts the metallic surface into a white layer and as such the formed surface product is similar to ceramic materials, already utilized for biomedical implants, hence, these surfaces are fully biocompatible.
